Ultra Filtration
More Details

Ultra Filtration (UF)

Tech Aid is a recognized distributor of Ultrafiltration (UF), a variety of membrane filtration in which hydrostatic pressure forces a liquid against a semi permeable membrane. Suspended solids and solutes of high molecular weight are retained, while water and low molecular weight solutes pass through the membrane.

Modified hydrophilic polyacrylonitrile (PAN) is used to make the membrane as it is best suited for aggressive waste-water in terms of performance, maintenance and costs. The membrane specifications such as length, diameter, pore size, material and surface area are varied to customize it for your application.

Ultrafiltration technology produces superior quality water by removing virtually all harmful pathogens and suspended solids. Ultrafiltration membranes are designed for Cross Flow and Dead End filtration. In Cross Flow filtration a portion of the feed passes through the membrane and is called permeate. The rejected materials are flushed away in a stream called the concentrate. Cross Flow membrane filtration uses a high cross flow rate to enhance permeate passage and reduce membrane fouling.

  • Removal of bacteria, – 6 log reductions.
  • Product turbidity < 0.5 NTU.
  • > 95% recovery rate.
  • Removal of total suspended solids > 0.1 micron.
  • Consistent permeate water quality.
  • Concentrate recovery in industrial applications.
  • Rapid start up with low system operation and maintenance cost.
  • Excellent filtration performance with high flux and longer membrane life.
  • Very small pore diameter (2.00 mm OD) for high end filtration.
  • Out to In configuration allows for less plugging and higher solids loading, higher flow area and easier cleaning.
  • Periodic back washing and air scouring improves performance and extends operating life by removing the fouling layer.
  • Simple, vertical modular design allows low cost, compact systems.
  • Automatic system with zero manual intervention.
  • Modular technology allows customer a phased purchase schedule.
  • The technology is highly energy efficient and easily adapts to load variations.
  • Superior water quality from the UF implies lesser load on the RO System, thereby increasing the life as well as efficiency of the RO System.
